Today is the last day of the year. May the nations move forward in the new year. Yes, one would almost wish for a storm that would sweep away and pave the way for a totally new kind of society. We are impatient when it seems that everything still goes according to old rules, and only the madness of greed and self-satisfying enjoyment and comfort continue to dominate, bringing misery to thousands and millions of people. We must take care to see that our life is inwardly fortified against every storm, hidden with God in a freedom that is on a different level. God's affairs should take root in us, not the affairs of the world.
Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt, Letters to China (No. 50, Dec 31, 1903)
"But you do have to be careful about one thing," he said more quietly, coming closer and speaking in hushed tones, "My professor-I have this great professor-told me that you have to be careful not to get too much education, because you could lose your foundation, your core values."
The neophyte nodded solemnly, his eyebrows raised with worry.
"If you get a bachelors," the seasoned student reassured, "you'll probably be okay. But my professor said that when you get a master's, and definitely if you go beyond that, you can lose your values. He said that college students have to be watchful because if you get too much education, you could turn LIBERAL. He's seen it happen to a lot of good Christians."

This is my first step into the "Blog World", kinda overdo considering the ridiculous number of other blogs I read and post on. I don't really have much to say right now, but I probably shouldn't have my first blog be completely empty. So, here goes nothing. . .
Ok, so I'm sitting here watching the Christmas Eve @ St. Peters Basilica TV special and I am amazed The Pope looks as well as he does. Considering his ripe old age and failing health, he looks like he could wrestle a bear (or at least walk unassisted, whichever). Besides The Popes better-than-usual presence and the awesome grandeur of St. Peters Basilica, this is actually really boring. Thank God for the English speaking translators / play-by-play commentators or else I would be drooling on myself with visions of sugarplums dancing in my head. I need to stop watching that, stop blogging this, and start wrapping my wifes and parents gifts . . . yea @ 2:13am on Xmas morning, better late than never.
Well, I hope you all will enjoy my blog. If you like me, you will like my blog. If you don't like me (is that possible?), you will still like my blog ! ! ! Feedback is always wanted and needed. Remember I am new at this, so be gentle, I'm fragile.
Good night, merry Christmas, and be well.
